SELF PORTRAIT
Self Portrait is a poetic tribute to mothers, moms, and grandmothers—an intimate reflection on fear, guidance, and the enduring force of maternal love. The piece traces how we stumble, search, and call out in moments of uncertainty, returning again and again to the quiet strength that steadies us. Produced for Mother’s Day 2011 by Luis Antonio Thompson, the film honors motherhood as both compass and refuge.
URBAN FAITH
When Jesus Turned His Back on Me is a collaborative short film created with Luis Antonio Thompson that confronts faith at its most fragile point—when belief collides with doubt, silence, and lived experience. Built around a poem that appears in As I Look, the film reflects on spiritual rupture not as abandonment, but as a moment of reckoning. The work was also featured as part of a profile in Urban Faith magazine, situating the piece within a broader conversation about faith, purpose, and moral responsibility in public life.
